V2X Movement Control Specialist in Iraq

Overview

This position will be physically located in Iraq in support of LOGCAP

Assist with day to day movement control operations. The Movement Control Specialist must be capable of performing, but not limited to, the following movement control functions: Customer Service; Convoy Briefings; Staging Area Management; Hazardous Materiel (HAZMAT) Documentation Certification; Movement Control Reports; RFID Management; Document Cargo; Container Management: and Safety Briefings. Employee must be familiar with Transportation Movement Requests (TMR), Transportation Control and Movement Document (TCMD), and regulation that pertain to Movement Control. Also, employee must be Hazardous Materiel (HAZMAT) certified and obtain the ability to utilize the Global Transportation Network (GTN), Integrated Booking System-Container Management Module (IBS-CMM), Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags and Transportation Coordinators'- Automated Information for Movement System II (TC-AIMS II). The Movement Control Specialist must be capable of working independent in lieu of specific instructions to accomplish mission and enforce the importance of safety at all times.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

  • Processes TMRs, TCMDs, and arranges transportation for moving personnel, equipment, and sustainment supplies.

  • Processes convoy clearance requests and special hauling permits.

  • Determines the mode of transportation (air, rail, inland waterway, or highway) for unscheduled moves and commits transportation assets.

  • Maintains communication with the transport services, shippers, receivers, and if applicable, HN movement control agencies.

  • Maintains the status of and advise the Movement Control Battalion (MCB) on the location of units, installations, and pipeline take-off points; transportation requirements; availability of modes of transport; shipper and receiver capabilities; trends of asset use capacity and the general transportation movements' situation in their areas.

  • Assists unit commanders and service representatives on transportation matters.

  • Assists in carrying out the movement program and directives from higher headquarters.

  • Coordinates movement from origin to destination and inbound clear movements when required.

  • Maintains accountability of containers and chassis for other services and commercial carriers and ensuring that they are promptly returned to the appropriate transport system.

  • Validates transportation requirements, coordinates transportation support, and inbound clearance for moving units, personnel, and cargo.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

  • Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

  • Preferred Qualification:

  • Undergraduate Degree is preferred.

  • Experience:

  • Three years of related work and supervisory experience.

  • Must know how to process TMRs, and TCMDs.

  • Excellent computer, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills required.

  • Computer skills include a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and USG Army Information Systems (AIS).

  • Requires excellent organizational skills; with the ability to work under fast paced and adverse conditions.

  • Working Conditions:

  • Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very

  • adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).

  • Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to

  • physical, chemical, or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to,

  • head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices. Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
